SMS Misr on Mrfqy: OTP API and transactional SMS for Egypt

SMS Misr is a popular Egyptian aggregator with dedicated OTP routes and competitive per-segment pricing for high-volume sellers. Mrfqy lists SMS Misr alongside VictoryLink in the Egypt SMS provider picker so merchants with existing Misr contracts do not need a second billing relationship.

API key and sender configuration

Select SMS Misr in Dashboard → Settings → COD order SMS and paste your API key from the Misr business portal. Set the sender ID field to your approved alphanumeric name — Misr rejects generic numeric short codes for promotional-looking traffic.

Mrfqy stores credentials in store_sms_configs encrypted JSON — the same table used for VictoryLink username/password pairs. Rotating keys in Misr only requires a single admin save, not a deploy.

Test with a live COD order in sandbox mode first: place a 1 EGP test product, confirm the SMS arrives within seconds, then enable for production catalog.

OTP on the Mrfqy roadmap

Today Mrfqy uses SMS Misr primarily for COD order confirmations when merchants select it as their provider override. The Misr OTP API surface is documented for six-digit login codes — Mrfqy will expose storefront OTP checkout verification in a future release using the same credential store.

High-risk categories (electronics COD, beauty subscriptions) benefit from OTP-before-confirm flows: customer enters code, order moves from pending to confirmed, then fulfillment starts. SMS Misr's dedicated OTP channel keeps delivery rates above marketing routes.
