COD order SMS confirmations for Arab e-commerce stores

Cash on delivery remains the default checkout path across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and much of the Levant. The problem is not COD itself — it is silent orders that never answer the phone. Mrfqy sends an automatic SMS confirmation the moment a COD order is placed, using the customer's phone from their profile or shipping address.

When Mrfqy sends COD SMS

The notification service triggers on order confirmation for payment methods tagged cod or cash_on_delivery. A worker job on the ORDER_COD_SMS queue retries delivery if the primary gateway is slow, and order_sms_logs prevents duplicate texts for the same order.

Messages include order number, store name, formatted total, and currency — rendered in Arabic or English based on the storefront locale. Saudi stores get COD phrasing tuned for KSA buyers; Egyptian copy uses local terminology merchants already expect.

SMS is optional per store. Enable it under Dashboard → Settings → COD order SMS without touching checkout themes or payment plugins.

Country-aware gateway defaults

Each of Mrfqy's 22 country packs ships with a recommended SMS provider: VictoryLink for Egypt, Unifonic for Saudi Arabia and UAE, Infobip for Morocco, and regional fallbacks for Jordan and beyond.

Merchants can override the default in admin if they already have a contract with SMS Misr, SMSEG, Cequens, or Twilio. Credentials stay encrypted per store — platform env vars only apply when you want Mrfqy-hosted fallback delivery.

Multi-country brands run separate store instances per country pack, so each storefront routes through the correct regulator-approved sender without manual DNS or webhook juggling.
