NTRA sender ID registration for Egypt SMS on Mrfqy
Egyptian law requires registered sender IDs for commercial SMS — here's how to comply before enabling COD confirmations on Mrfqy.
The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) governs commercial SMS in Egypt. Unregistered sender IDs get filtered at the carrier level — your COD confirmations silently fail and Mrfqy logs a delivery error in order_sms_logs. Register before you enable SMS in admin.
Registration checklist
Apply for an alphanumeric sender ID (your store brand, 11 characters max) through your SMS aggregator — VictoryLink, SMS Misr, SMSEG, and Cequens all submit to NTRA on your behalf.
Provide commercial registration documents and authorized signatory ID. Approval typically takes 5–15 business days; plan ahead of launch campaigns.
Once approved, enter the exact sender string in Dashboard → Settings → COD order SMS → Sender ID. Mrfqy passes it unchanged to the gateway API — typos cause instant rejection.
Message content rules
COD confirmation templates on Mrfqy are transactional — order number, store name, total, payment method. Avoid promotional language in the same message; NTRA may reclassify mixed content as marketing.
Arabic templates use UTF-8 encoding through VictoryLink's SMSLang=a parameter. Keep messages concise — long Arabic SMS split into multiple billable segments.
If NTRA suspends your sender, disable SMS in Mrfqy admin immediately, fix the compliance issue with your aggregator, then re-enable — do not spam retries against a blocked ID.
NTRA compliance is not optional for Egyptian COD — register your sender, paste it in Mrfqy admin, then turn on confirmations.
