About the role
Review and analyze tender documents, including drawings, technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), contractual terms, and project requirements.Study electrical drawings and identify discrepancies, conflicts, or missing information, and prepare technical clarifications (RFIs) when required.Prepare accurate Quantity Take-Off (QTO) based on project drawings and specifications.Develop preliminary and final project cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and indirect costs.Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate them technically and commercially, and recommend the most suitable options.Prepare competitive technical and commercial proposals while ensuring target profitability and compliance with project requirements.Analyze unpriced items and establish appropriate pricing strategies.Apply Value Engineering principles to optimize project costs without compromising quality or technical requirements.Prepare complete tender submission packages in accordance with client requirements and submission deadlines.Develop productivity rates and cost analyses for labor, equipment, and construction activities.Maintain and regularly update the company's cost database, supplier database, and historical pricing records.Provide technical support to project execution teams regarding drawings, specifications, material approvals, and technical queries.Review Shop Drawings, Material Submittals, and Method Statements whenever required.Coordinate with Procurement, Projects, Contracts, Sales, Finance, and Warehouse departments to ensure smooth project execution.Evaluate design changes and Variation Orders and assess their technical and commercial impacts.Prepare periodic reports on tender status, project costs, cost deviations, and value engineering opportunities.Contribute to the continuous improvement of Technical Office and Estimation processes, procedures, and best practices.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Engineering or equivalent).2–7 years of experience in Technical Office and Estimation within Electrical or MEP Contracting companies.Solid experience in tendering, quantity take-off, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and technical/commercial proposal preparation.Good knowledge of Low Voltage (LV), Medium Voltage (MV), ELV Systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), KNX, Smart Building Solutions, or Industrial Automation.Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, and prepare technical clarifications (RFIs).Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of Revit, Dialux, ETAP, or MS Project is an advantage.Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and reporting skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Excellent communication, coordination, and teamwork skills with internal departments, suppliers, and clients.Good command of technical English (written and spoken).Experience in electrical contracting projects such as commercial buildings, industrial facilities, hospitals, and infrastructure projects is preferred.Experience in Electrical Contracting, Smart Automation, Power Distribution, Power Monitoring, BMS, KNX, or Industrial Automation is considered a strong advantage.
