About the role
Job SummaryThe Architectural / Life Safety Engineer is responsible for developing and reviewing life safety and code compliance designs for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
The role ensures compliance with applicable building and fire codes while coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop life safety strategies in accordance with project requirements.Review architectural drawings for compliance with fire and life safety codes.Prepare life safety plans, occupancy classifications, and means of egress analyses.Review fire compartmentation, fire-rated assemblies, and fire stopping details.Coordinate fire and life safety requirements with architectural, structural, MEP, and fire protection disciplines.Prepare code compliance reports and technical documentation.Review shop drawings and technical submittals related to life safety.Provide technical support during design development and construction.Ensure compliance with NFPA 101, International Building Code (IBC), and other applicable building and life safety codes.
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.Minimum 2 years of experience in Architectural Design and/or Life Safety Engineering.Thorough knowledge of NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code) and International Building Code (IBC).Experience in life safety plans, occupancy classification, means of egress, fire compartmentation, and code compliance reviews.Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit/BIM is an advantage).Strong coordination and technical communication skills.Good in English.
