About the role
Job Scope: The Cost Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all cost accounting activities within the manufacturing facility, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, cost analysis, and reporting. The role supports management in controlling production costs, improving profitability, and enhancing operational efficiency through accurate financial analysis and monitoring. Responsibilities: Supervise daily cost accounting operations and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.Monitor and analyze raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods costs.Review and validate product costing, standard costs, and cost allocations.Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, and overhead) and investigate significant deviations.Prepare monthly cost reports, inventory valuation reports, and management analysis.Coordinate and supervise physical inventory counts and cycle counts.Review inventory reconciliations and ensure accuracy between physical and system records.Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to production and manufacturing costs.Work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Finance teams to improve cost control processes.Ensure proper maintenance of cost accounting records and documentation.Assist in internal and external audit requirements related to inventory and costing.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance.Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Cost Accounting within a manufacturing environment.At least 2 years of supervisory experience.Strong knowledge of manufacturing costing methods, inventory control, and financial reporting.Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Oracle ERP.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.CMA, CPA, or equivalent professional certification is an advantage.Experience in industrial or chemical manufacturing companies is preferred.
