About the role
Process weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees.Verify employee time records, attendance, overtime, and leave balances.Calculate wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and tax withholdings.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.Maintain and update employee payroll information in HR and payroll systems.Prepare payroll reports for management, accounting, and regulatory agencies.Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.Administer payroll-related benefits and deductions, including retirement plans and insurance.Respond to employee questions regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and benefits.Assist with year-end payroll activities, including tax forms and audits.Support payroll system upgrades, testing, and process improvements.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).2+ years of payroll processing experience.Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage-and-hour requirements.Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
