About the role
Review and audit EPC contractor electrical designs, drawings, and technical submittals for compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.Conduct site inspections of all electrical installations, including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, inverters, and BESS systems.Review and comment on protection relay settings, grounding/earthing designs, and arc flash studies.Monitor the quality of cable installations, terminations, and electrical equipment commissioning.Review grid connection documentation and liaise with the utility on interconnection requirements.Prepare and issue technical inspection reports, NCRs, and formal site observation reports.Support the testing and commissioning phase of PV inverters, battery systems, and HV/MV equipment.Review and verify as-built electrical drawings for conformance with approved engineering packages.Coordinate with the off-site Senior Electrical Design Engineer on RFI and technical query resolution.Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as required.Participate in project risk assessments and support the HSE team on electrical safety matters.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience, including at least 4 years onsite on utility-scale solar PV projects.Strong knowledge of HV/MV systems, protection schemes, and grid interconnection requirements.Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, and relevant international electrical standards.Experience with BESS integration and grid code compliance is advantageous.Excellent technical report writing skills.Valid professional engineering license or registration is preferred.
