About the role
You’ll support backend development for core platforms: building APIs, working with databases, and helping keep services reliable and scalable. You’ll learn how we structure server-side systems supporting real scan-to-surgery workflows, and you’ll ship production code under mentorship following the same backend internship model in our internal template.We strongly encourage the use of modern AI-assisted development workflows. Interns are expected to actively use AI tools and models (such as coding assistants, AI-powered debugging, documentation, testing, and productivity tools) to improve development speed, code quality, learning, and problem-solving efficiency.Expected SkillsRESTful APIs and JSONRelational databases and SQL (MySQL - PostgreSQL)Git / GitLabFamiliarity with one backend track: Native PHP, NodeJS (Express), or JavaAWS is a plusFamiliarity with AI-powered developer tools and willingness to integrate AI into daily development workflowsAbility to use AI tools responsibly for debugging, code generation, documentation, testing, and learningBENEFITS Technical mentorship and continuous feedback. WHO CAN APPLY Undergraduate students in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Science, or related fields. Only 2nd or 3rd year students. Good command of English (comfortable reading technical docs and writing emails). Uses AI tools daily to speed up delivery and enhance quality. Strong communication skills (can explain ideas clearly in meetings, emails, and written docs).REQUIREMENTS Suitable PC/laptop with minimum specs: 8GB RAM, i5 8th gen, Windows 10 or Ubuntu 22.04. Fast and stable internet connection (at least 20MB/s). Stable electricity. Comfortably install Hubstaff on your laptop/PC to track productivity.WORK MODEL & COMPENSATION Work days: Sunday to Thursday. (unless mentioned otherwise) Shift time: Flexible, per agreement with your supervisor. Possible shifts: 9a–12p, 12–3p, 3–6p, 6–9p, or 9–12p. Minimum commitment: 3 hours/day (≈66 hours/month). Payment: 3,000 EGP for 66h/month. Extra hours billed at 45 EGP/hour. Interns will use their personal email for communication
