We work with premium furniture vendors across the UAE to give their clients an immersive, real-time 3D customisation experience — selecting materials, finishes, and configurations before a single piece is manufactured.
We are building the definitive digital showroom for luxury furniture in the region.THE ROLEWe are looking for a talented Junior Furniture Designer based in Cairo to join our start-up.
You will be responsible for creating original, high-quality 3D furniture models that power the Mode7 configurator.
This is a hands-on production role .
You will design and model furniture pieces from concept through to export-ready GLB/FBX files that load directly into our platform.As Mode7 grows, your role will expand to include sourcing and documenting premium material samples from suppliers and manufacturers, as well as building the physical and digital material library that underpins our catalogue.This is a hybrid role.
You will work remotely from Cairo for the majority of your time, with occasional travel required to visit furniture vendors and suppliers in person to inspect materials, gather specifications, and maintain supplier relationships.WHAT YOU WILL DO Design and model original luxury furniture pieces (sofas, dining tables, chairs, cabinets, consoles, and more) informed by Gulf residential market taste Deliver clean, optimised 3D models in GLB and FBX format, ready for real-time rendering in a Three.js configurator Ensure models are correctly UV-unwrapped, zone-segmented for material application, and optimised for web performance Maintain consistent scale, proportions, and material zone naming conventions across the catalogue Collaborate remotely with the Mode7 technical team to integrate your models into the platform and iterate based on feedback Over time: visit furniture vendors and material suppliers to source, photograph, and document premium fabric, leather, timber, metal, and stone samples for the Mode7 material library

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR1–3 years of experience in furniture design, product design, or 3D modellingProficiency in at least one industry-standard 3D tool: Blender, Rhino, 3ds Max, or Cinema 4D Ability to export clean GLB/FBX files with correct geometry, UV maps, and material slots A strong eye for luxury furniture aesthetics — you understand proportion, material, and finish at a premium level Familiarity with real-world furniture construction and manufacturing constraints is a plus Good written and spoken English for remote collaboration Self-directed and comfortable working independently with async communicationNICE TO HAVE Experience with PBR (physically based rendering) materials and texture maps Knowledge of Gulf or wider Middle Eastern interior design preferences Experience visiting or working with furniture manufacturers or material suppliers Portfolio featuring residential furniture, particularly in contemporary or transitional styles
