Health & Safety Management
• Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Ensure all workers use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Promote a strong safety culture among employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
• Enforce compliance with safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and site rules.
Training & Awareness
• Conduct safety inductions for new employees and visitors.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions.
• Educate workers on hazard identification and safe work practices.
• Assist in organizing emergency drills and safety campaigns.
Inspections & Reporting
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, and accidents.
• Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and training documentation.
• Monitor the implementation and closure of corrective actions.
Site Safety Monitoring
• Inspect scaffolding, ladders, excavation works, lifting operations, and work-at-height activities.
• Ensure safe housekeeping practices throughout the site.
• Monitor the safe storage and handling of materials and equipment.
• Verify that subcontractors comply with project HSE requirements.
• Support site management in maintaining a safe working environment.
Emergency Preparedness
• Assist in implementing emergency response procedures.
• Ensure emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits are available and maintained.
• Participate in emergency drills and evacuation exercises.
• Coordinate with site teams during emergency situations.
Qualifications
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Safety Officer in construction projects.
• Basic knowledge of construction safety practices and HSE regulations.
• Familiarity with risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident reporting.
Certifications (Preferred)
• OSHA Certification (30-Hour or equivalent).
• NEBOSH IGC (preferred).
• First Aid and Fire Safety Training certificates are an advantage.
