Role DescriptionLumirage is seeking a Technical Design Engineer to join our Engineering & Product Development team in 6th of October City, Giza.The successful candidate will be responsible for designing new aluminum profiles and systems, developing extrusion dies, preparing manufacturing drawings, and supporting product development from concept through production.
The role requires close collaboration with the engineering, production, die manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure optimized profile designs that are technically efficient, manufacturable, and meet structural and architectural requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign aluminum profiles for architectural systems.Develop complete aluminum systems including windows, doors, curtain walls, and façade solutions.Design extrusion dies (Die Design) for aluminum profiles.Create accurate 2D manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD.Develop 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks.Prepare profile sections, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.Optimize profile geometry for extrusion efficiency and structural performance.Coordinate with die manufacturing and extrusion teams during product development.Review extrusion samples and recommend profile improvements.Support prototype development, testing, and product validation.Prepare technical manuals, profile catalogs, and engineering documentation.Collaborate with production, quality, and sales teams regarding technical requirements.Participate in continuous improvement and new product development projects.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related engineering discipline.Experience in aluminum profile design or aluminum system development.Strong knowledge of aluminum extrusion processes and profile design principles.Experience in extrusion die (Die Design) development.Excellent proficiency in SolidWorks (mandatory).Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).Ability to prepare manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.Strong understanding of aluminum alloys, extrusion tolerances, and manufacturing processes.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and engineering accuracy.Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.PreferredExperience in architectural aluminum systems.Experience in curtain wall, sliding, and hinged systems.Knowledge of structural calculations related to aluminum profiles.Experience with product development and prototype validation.Familiarity with aluminum extrusion factories and die manufacturing processes.Knowledge of international standards related to aluminum systems.
