The Smart City Operations Specialist oversees the day-to-day operations, integration, and performance of the city’s digital and physical smart systems.
Key Responsibilities:System Monitoring & Management: Oversee real-time smart city dashboards (CCTV, smart lighting, smart irrigation, automated waste management, and traffic systems) to ensure peak operational health.
IoT & Network Support: Install, configure, and troubleshoot field-level hardware, including edge gateways, IoT sensors, and communication nodes.
Data Integration & Analytics: Analyze system telemetry to identify operational bottlenecks, predict maintenance needs, and optimize resource allocation.
Incident Response: Act as the first line of defense for smart system outages or cyber-physical anomalies, implementing quick workarounds or coordinating with IT engineering for resolution.
Job Requirements & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.Experience: 0–2 years of hands-on experience in managing networks, smart facility operations, telecommunications or IT systems.Strong understanding of basic networking configurations (TCP/IP, DNS).Strong analytical and diagnostic skills to quickly resolve complex, real-time hardware and software failures.
Excellent communication skills to act as a technical liaison between, private tech contractors, and public works staff.
Flexible working in a fast-paced environment that blends digital desk work with hands-on field intervention.
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points):Familiarity with edge computing devices, PLCs, smart meters, and IP camera systems.Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, AWS/Azure IoT Developer, Certified Smart City Professional).
