Cost Estimation ManagerLocation: New Cairo, EgyptIndustry: Steel Fabrication & Structural Steel Job SummarySESCO Steel is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Cost Estimation Manager to lead the estimation function and support the company's growth in the steel fabrication and construction sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full tendering and estimation process, preparing accurate cost estimates, leading the estimation team, and ensuring competitive and profitable bids for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Key ResponsibilitiesEstimation & TenderingLead the preparation of technical and commercial cost estimates for steel fabrication and construction projects.Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and client requirements.Perform detailed material take-offs for structural steel, plate work, and heavy steel structures.Develop accurate labor, fabrication, erection, and productivity estimates.Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and tender submissions.Evaluate and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations.Conduct value engineering and cost optimization studies.Support negotiations and clarifications during the tendering phase.Ensure all estimates are completed accurately and submitted within deadlines.Commercial ManagementDevelop pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and company objectives.Conduct risk and opportunity assessments for tender opportunities.Perform bid/no-bid evaluations and profitability analyses.Review contract terms and identify commercial risks.Support change order, variation, and claim pricing activities.Maintain and update cost databases and historical project records.Leadership & Team ManagementLead, mentor, and develop the Cost Estimation team.Review and approve all estimates before final submission.Establish estimating standards, procedures, and best practices.Coordinate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Production, Planning, and Commercial departments.Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the estimation function. EducationBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Professional certifications in Estimation, Project Management, or Cost Engineering are an advantage.ExperienceMinimum 10 years of experience in cost estimation and tendering within the steel fabrication or construction industry.At least 5 years of experience in a senior estimation or estimation management role.Proven track record in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure steel projects.Technical RequirementsStrong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, plate work, and heavy steel structures.Extensive experience in material take-offs, fabrication costing, and project pricing.Solid understanding of fabrication shop operations and production processes.Knowledge of international codes, standards, and specifications.Experience with EPC, industrial, and large-scale construction projects.Software SkillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Working knowledge of AutoCAD.Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.Leadership & CompetenciesStrong leadership and people management skills.Excellent analytical and numerical abilities.Strong commercial and business acumen.Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight tender deadlines.Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.Results-oriented with a high level of attention to detail.
